What is paracord?
Paracord is a lightweight yet incredibly strong rope made up of multiple inner strands, all wrapped in a durable nylon outer sheath.
It’s designed to handle the elements, making it a reliable choice for everyday adventures — from backyard zoomies to salty strolls.
What is Biothane?
Biothane is a waterproof, ultra-durable material made from polyester webbing with a protective coating.
It has the look and feel of leather, but without the upkeep. It won’t absorb water or odours, wipes clean in seconds, and stands up beautifully to mud, snow, and everything in between.
Bonus: it’s also vegan-friendly.
How do I measure my pet’s neck?
Getting the perfect fit is key — here are two easy ways:
Option 1:
Use a soft measuring tape around your pet’s neck where the collar will sit. Keep it snug, but not tight — you should be able to fit two fingers comfortably underneath.
Option 2:
Use an existing collar. Buckle it as if worn, then measure along the inside of the collar with a soft tape.
Important: Measuring the outside can lead to the wrong size.
How do I clean my collar?
Keeping your collar fresh is simple:
Rinse clean with water as needed
For deeper cleaning, use baking soda and gently scrub with a soft bristle brush. Rince thoroughly and gently squeeze out the bulk of the moisture.
If your collar joins you on beach days, be sure to rinse it well afterward to remove salt and protect the hardware.
Always let your collars air dry naturally — no machines, no harsh chemicals. Just good old-fashioned air.
Will the collar change over time?
Yes. Paracord naturally softens and may stretch slightly with use. This is a normal characteristic of the material and does not affect the quality or durability of the collar.
How long does it take to get my order?
Each piece is handcrafted with care, not pulled from a shelf.
We aim to have your order ready within 15 days, but during busier times, it may take up to 30 days.
Good things take a little time — and your pet’s collar is worth it.

Is there a warranty on your products?
Absolutely. We stand behind our work.
All Knotty Paws collars come with a 3-month repair or replacement warranty covering paracord and hardware issues (as determined by us).
This doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, chewing, excessive pulling, accidents, or misuse — but if something isn’t right, we’ll do our best to make it right.
